Live Transcribe is an upcoming smartphone application for the Android OS developed by Google. Development on the application started in collaboration with Gallaudet University in the United States. It was officially released as a free public beta on the Google Play Store for Android 5.0+.
The application works similarly to Transcription Pro, but it offers live transcription with speech recognition. You can simply install the app to your phone, sign in using your Google account, and start transcribing. The software uses the OCR (optical character recognition) feature in your smartphone's data field to detect text-based stenographic text such as emails, web pages, receipts, and voice notes. The text is then converted into a text file that can be emailed or uploaded to the Live Transcription server for transcription.
Live Transcription also provides the option for transcription reviews. Reviews are available on a paid subscription basis, which allows the free Live Transcription users to submit their transcripts to a review team. Once your transcription is reviewed, you can make any necessary changes and approve them before the text is submitted to the servers. This helps ensure accuracy and lowers the risk of transcription mistakes and transcription errors. This feature is available only to the paid subscription account.
